Carved wooden 'Vortist' figure, signed 'CK 1932' to the base.

Provenance: From the collection of Naomi Mitchison, a prolific British writer, feminist and peace activist. She was a member of the circe of artists, critics and writers who formed the Vortist movement c.1914. She was a close friend of Wyndham Lewis who sketched her in 1931, and is now exhibited at the Writer's Museum in Edinburgh.
