James Herbert Macnair (1868-1955) was a member of the 'Glasgow Four', a group of designers that also included Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Macnair worked as a designer, producing furniture, book-illustrations, and posters. He wrote articles for 'The Studio' and was appointed Instrucor ni Design at the School of Architecture and Applied Art at Unviersity College, Liverpool.
