Pierre Tourgeneff (1854-1912), a bronze of two daschunds, signed.
Tourgueneff was born in Paris and studied the Florentine style of bronze sculpture under Frémiet. In 1889, Tourgueneff won the coveted Grand Prize at the Paris Universal Exposition. Among his acclaimed works are the marble Daughter of Eve and Monument of Painter Jalabert at Nimes, and his equestrian statue Pastour in the Steppe.
