Henri Valette (1877-1962) Marble study of a seated hound, c. 1930, signed on base
Valette studied in Paris and continued to work in France producing several war memorials in the 1920s. He was a regular exhibitor at the Salon de la Societe Nationale des Beaux-Arts a Paris. His sculptures consist mainly of animal figures and groups. His works can be found at the museums of Luxembourg and Vernon. Provenance : The Tod Endowment Trust.
