A copy after the painting of 'Bacchus and Ariadne' by Titian now in The National Gallery, London (N.G. no 35). The current paintings was copied directly from the original when it was lent by its owner, Thomas Hamlet, to a loan exhibition at the Royal Academy, London, in 1816.
Provenance:This painting has been in the possession of the Hazlerigg Family, Nosley Hall, Billesdon, Leicestershire from the early 19th century to the present day. 101x119cms. (39x47ins.)
